I had the pleasure of photographing Shan Shan and Alex’s wedding at the Quincy Marriott. You may remember seeing them on my blog a few months ago when I did their engagement session. This was a super fun wedding because they played games before the wedding (a Cantonese tradition where the groom and groomsmen are tested before the groom can see the bride) and during the reception, with a twist, because the bride and groom hosted the games instead of being in the games! My favorite part of the night was when the guests started to play musical chairs! That really brought back some fond childhood memories.
The day before the wedding was extremely rainy. I was praying for nice weather and we were lucky that the rain had stopped! It was a perfect Boston spring day, but as New Englanders know, it’s still pretty chilly. Shan Shan and Alex were so happy that day they barely noticed the weather! But we ended up taking all the bridal party and family portraits indoors because it grew increasingly windy.
Thank you Shan Shan and Alex for letting me document your special day! I really loved spending the day with your families too! They are so wonderful and sweet!
Would you believe me if I told you we were shooting in a parking lot? Yup!
You can see how windy it was by how her hair is blown back. Love the effect! I felt like I was fashion magazine photographer!
Shan Shan is extremely talented and drew the design for this cake freehand, and it turned out beautifully!
Bride and groom hosting games.
Musical chair fun!
Way to end a great night with lots of dancing!
