Marah + Seth :: just married session

There are so many stunning pictures of Marah and Seth that wouldn’t fit in my promo video and I wanted to post them because I am completely in love with them! But first, let me back up and tell you about their story. I took their Floyd Lamb park engagement session last year but I didn’t shoot their wedding because they got married in Texas. There was a huge drought in Texas that lasted for most of last summer, but then, as luck would have it, rain came down like cats and dogs on their wedding day. 2 inches to be exact and horizontally too. That’s not even the worst part! When she told me about all the other things that went wrong on her wedding day, I was in utter disbelief. She had no good pictures from her wedding day. I felt so bad for Marah and Seth. I wanted to recreate her wedding for her as best I could, even though we were miles from Texas. So we planned to do a just married session and at the same time, have the great team at Memory Lane film the session for my promo video. As luck would have it, a big storm came into town and it was going to be wet and windy all weekend. And of course that very rarely happens in Vegas! I didn’t want to cancel it because I didn’t want to believe that it was going to rain again. I was in total denial and I didn’t want Marah and Seth to think that they were somehow cursed. But the winds were so bad that we had to reschedule, and the next available time where everyone was free was about a month later. So I prayed and prayed (and prayed!) for good weather because rescheduling it again would mean we would be photographing in some really hot weather!! When the day finally came, my prayers had been answered. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect! As an added bonus, Marah’s mother was in town, so we got her all dressed up and were able to get a few pictures of Marah and her mom together. Yay! 🙂

I was so nervous the day of the shoot. I’ve never been filmed while photographing, so I didn’t know what to expect. I wanted great images for Marah and Seth, but I also wanted an awesome video. It was hard doing both! Luckily, the guys at Memory Lane made me feel super comfortable and we made a great team and came up with great ideas on the fly. And I just absolutely loved how the pictures turned out!

I took a few getting ready pictures while Your Beauty Call did her hair and makeup. Their dog Tucker, the cutest terrier ever, almost stole the show! He is such a ham in front of the camera!

After Marah and Seth got ready, we headed to Nelson ghost town to shoot the video and take pictures. I just love this little ghost town because there is so many backgrounds to choose from and it never gets boring. This was inside one of the barns. I just love how the light spills through the cracks!

Marah and Seth are so quirky and have a signature pose that they do every time they travel somewhere and take pics – the wave. I love it!

There are some great views of the mountains right by the ghost town. The ones north of the town look completely different than the ones south of the town. It’s really breathtaking and worth a trip if you’ve never been down there! And even better when you have such a stunning couple! Doesn’t Seth look so handsome in his uniform?! 🙂

Aren’t they just adorable? Thanks again Marah and Seth for agreeing to be stars in my video!
