Baseball season is now officially over, so I totally need to share this engagement session at Fenway! Kerry and Matt are big baseball fans, so we it was only fitting that we start our session at Fenway, where the Red Sox play. They even had tickets later that day to the hottest game of the season: the Red Sox-Yankee game! But unfortunately they don’t root for the same team…Matt is a Sox fan, while Kerry, who grew up in NY, is a Yankees fan. Yes, crazy to be fans of rival teams, especially in a sport-obsessed town like Boston!! But they were very excited to go to the game, and rooting for different teams doesn’t seem to bother them in the least.

I met them at their apartment since they literally live across the street from Fenway! We just have to walk across this overpass to get there.

Cuddling up next to will call. :) I tell all my couples that I love photographing couples when they wear bright cheery colors because they stand out against any background. I love it even more when they listen to me!

Then we cabbed over to the Public Garden for a change of scenery.

Kerry and Matt were smart enough to bring a blanket because the ground was still wet from rain. The blue blanket really brings out the the blue in Kerry’s eyes!

We started the session early, so we stopped by Dunkin’ Donuts for some coffee and donuts. Kerry really loves donuts and wanted me to get a picture of her eating one! And the donut matches her outfit! A girl after my own heart. :)

Jee and Ben are getting married in September and I am so blessed to be photographing their wedding! They are an amazing couple and met up with me on an early Saturday morning so we could shoot without lots of people in the background. Well guess what? Half of Boston was already up and strolling through the parks because it was such a lovely day. I was utterly amazed at how early Bostonians woke up and started their day. So I think I will schedule any future engagement shoots in popular public spaces even earlier now!

Jee and Ben were up for anything (I heart laid-back couples!), so we started the session having a ton of fun and riding the teacup and carousel at Boston Common.

It was incredibly windy that day, but I like how the wind is blowing Jee’s hair in every direction.

We found an amazing tree to shoot under! I’ve been to the Boston Public Gardens several times, and I always find something new there to photograph!

Then we wandered over to Beacon Hill. Jee and Ben live in this neighborhood but they’ve never been to this street, which is one of the most photographed streets in Boston, so I was happy to show them this hidden gem! Streets like these is why I love Boston! We were lucky to the street to ourselves when we were shooting because there were a lot of tourists and another photographer when we left!

Public garden wedding

June 7, 2010

The wedding season has only just begun, and I’m already back at the Public Garden. It is a very popular place for brides and grooms to get married because it’s such a great park and it’s fantastic for small, simple weddings. I had the pleasure of second shooting for Lloyd Mandrell Photography. I love second shooting because I can hang in the back with my zoom lens and take candids.

I saw some a couple of swans nesting at the park.

They found a great spot under a willow tree, and it was really nice to be partially in the shade because it was really sunny that day!

Crystal & Cody

October 15, 2009

Crystal and Cody are such a cute, laid-back couple, and they got engaged just two weeks ago! They are getting married in Washington state, so they wanted to find a local photographer to take some engagement photos. I was so honored when they chose me! Crystal attends school in Vermont, but she came down for the weekend to take pictures. We couldn’t have picked a better weekend to take pictures at the Boston Public Garden because the weather was gorgeous!

I love how these photos turned out!! There are so many cute places to take pictures at the park, and the fall leaves make it so much prettier (though the leaves hadn’t quite peaked colors when we were there). I heard that almost every couple in Boston takes pictures at the Public Gardens, and we ran into quite a few of them on our shoot! Congrats on your engagement Crystal and Cody!!
