This is part two of Sandy’s wedding day. Click here to see part one of her wedding day.
Here’s a few images I took of Sandy getting ready in her suite at the Hilton Costa Mesa.
I love LOVE Sandy’s dress! It was so flattering on her figure and made her look stunning on her wedding day. I can’t wait for her to visit me in Las Vegas for a trash the dress session!!

Oh yes, we finally found her robe towards the end of getting her makeup done!

Yay I’m so excited to share these pictures with you because Sandy and Scott are very near and dear to my heart. A few weeks ago I drove down to Orange County to photograph my bestie’s wedding. I was her maid of honor so I could only photograph the morning festivities, and the fabulous Erich of Erich Chen Photography covered the rest of her day. You may remember their beautiful engagement pictures that we took in the cute oceanside town of Rockport, Massachusetts.
Sandy getting ready before the Chinese tea ceremony. Doesn’t she look gorgeous in her Chinese dress?

Traditionally in Chinese culture, the groom and his family goes to the bride’s house bearing lots of gifts. But in order to enter the house, the groom and groomsmen have to pass a series of “tests” in order for the groom to see his bride. Scott has to “bribe” his way in and is trying to negotiate with the bridesmaids. These games are all done in good nature and is such a fun way to start the day!

Scott had to prove his love for Sandy by dancing to “Baby Got Back” that is playing on the laptop. Sort of a modern twist on the Chinese wedding door games.

Then a brief Buddhist ceremony honoring the ancestors.

We had a full house for the tea ceremony! It was very touching to see so many of their family members fly from far away to celebrate this occasion with them. The living room was quite packed with all the relatives that Sandy and Scott had to serve tea to. But on the plus side, they received lots of lucky red envelopes and gold jewelry.

Showing off all the bling! Congrats Sandy and Scott!

I am so excited to be featured on the Scheme Events! They are one of Vegas’ premiere event planning companies, so rest assured that you will be in great hands if you choose them to plan your wedding. Not to mention they are some of the sweetest ladies you’ll ever meet!
Click here to read the interview at Scheme Events!
I also had the opportunity to help out with the grand opening of their new studio by setting up a party photobooth. It was so much fun and they made it so chic with the background and custom signs! You can visit Scheme’s Facebook fan page to see all the photobooth craziness from the event.
Here’s me with the girls of Scheme Events. Special thanks to Adam Trujillo for grabbing this shot of us.

They are so adorable!!

My friend Erin of Erin Hatch Photography is so awesome! She put together another fabulous shoot for some local photographers (the last one she put together was the model shoot at the dry lake bed). This time, she gathered up some girls she knew to model for us in their wedding gowns. And they are all gorgeous!! One of the girls told me that it’s been 7 years since she last wore the dress, and it fit perfectly, even after having kids!! I hope that I am that lucky whenever I have kids. And one of the girls is actually getting married soon, so it was a real bridal session with her!
I had so much fun with these girls! Thanks Amanda, Jeravae, and Ashley!
These are my favorite kinds of roses, the two-toned ones. They are so colorful and really match her personality!

Happy, laughing bride. I don’t feel like I’m doing my job right if I don’t get some genuine smiles and laughter.

So gorgeous, right? I was happy that the sun came out towards the end of the session so we could get some golden light in the images.

We found an amazing patch of wildflowers that resembled sunflowers. When I saw them I was so giddy and jumping up and down because I never see these in Vegas! At least my excitement made the bride laugh.

Does the dress looks like it’s never ending? Yes, she’s about 6 feet tall, the tallest bride I’ve ever photographed! Poor girl, she said she couldn’t find a dress long enough for her! But I don’t think the dress is too short, and plus, she looks stunning!!

I love the bride with the mountains in the background. It feels so serene.

Okay, who’s up for a real trash the dress session?! Contact me!

When Nassar first contacted me to do a day after/engagement session, I was so excited! Wait, how can it be a day after AND an engagement session? Okay, let me explain. In Asian culture, it’s typical to wear formals during your engagement session, and they’ll typically call it a pre-wedding session instead of an engagement session. So in that sense, it was their engagement session. But it’s also their day after session because they went to the Las Vegas city hall the day before to get married, and then have a formal ceremony/reception later both in Taiwan and North Carolina, where Nassar is from. So yes, two sides of the same coin!
Alice and Nassar wanted a scenic place since they both love the outdoors. Alice actually worked at Yellowstone for a summer. So after a lot of research, we decided to that Red Rock Canyon would be the perfect place. And it was a great decision because the photos turned out beautifully!!
Daileny of Daileny’s Hair and Makeup did an amazing job on Alice’s hair (highly recommend her for her services!), and woke up at 4 am so we could finish the session before it got too hot. Yes, 4 am, that’s how we roll in Las Vegas! Sadly, the weather didn’t really cool down so it was already hot at 6 am. But I still considered ourselves lucky despite because it rained the day before and all day the day after. I definitely did not to get Alice’s dresses dirty!
They are such a beautiful couple that I would have photographed all day if I could!

Stunning couple + stunning background = stunning photo.

I posted this preview on Facebook and it’s been my most popular sneak peek so far!

These little scooter cars from Scoot City Tours are adorable! You can take tours in these scooter cars around Red Rock Canyon.

Love these mountains in the background.

Oh I love how the ruffles are flowing in this image. I have a new found love for ruffled dresses now!

Such a pretty, happy bride. And a groom laughing.
These candid moments are my favorite types of images to capture.

I think Alice and Nassar must like to do a lot of jumping pictures because they are pros at this! This is on the first try.

There are so many beautiful images from this session, so I created a slideshow for you to enjoy! You can also view more images on my Facebook fan page.

I had the pleasure of photographing a newborn at two weeks old! He is so cute and precious and did so wonderfully on his first photo shoot! Seriously, I don’t think babies come cuter than this one.

His daddy is from New York so Little J is already a big Jets fan and no doubt will grow up to be a great football player.

He’s smiling for the camera! He looks so much like his mommy in this photo.

Changing the diaper! I don’t have any kids yet, so I am amazed at how many diapers babies go through!

His little puckered lips are so adorable.

This is one of my favs.

So peaceful. It took a few tries, but we were finally able to get a cute nudie pic without disturbing his slumber.

Then he woke up again and fell right back asleep in mommy’s arms.

Meet Stephanie and Jason. They are proof that you can find love in the unlikeliest places, like at the airport! Yup, they were both in Las Vegas – Stephanie for a bachelorette party and Jason for a job interview, and on their way back home to Ohio, their flight was delayed for several hours. They somehow started chatting and hit it off. So what was bad news for them actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise!
Now they both live in Las Vegas and getting married this November. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Anthem Country Club!
I am so excited about how these engagement photos turned out! As a photographer, I spend a lot of time with my couples to create a vision and plan the details of their engagement session so that their images turn out amazing. This session was no exception. While sometimes plans never always work the way you want, everything worked out great in the end and we had such a fun time on this engagement shoot. Most of these were taken downtown, which is a fun mix of vintage and modern.
They both went to Ohio State, so I thought this red wall would be a great tribute to their alma mater! Plus it matches Stephanie’s dress.

When I saw these escalators, I had this really cool idea in my head. No escalators were harmed during this photo shoot. Okay, I have to let you in on a little secret: these were non-working escalators so it’s much easier to get a pose like this where they are on opposite escalators!

Stephanie and Jason have the nicest smiles!

One of my favs from the session.

Sometimes when you’re walking through downtown, you never know what you’ll run into. Like this gargantuan modern wall art.

And no downtown Vegas engagement session is complete without taking a picture with a neon sign.

Another one of my favorites. Simply beautiful.

I’ve had my eye on this building for a while but it’s always been too sunny and was always afraid it might be too reflective. I love the modern lines and curves of this building. Luckily it was cloudy during our engagement session, so I was finally able to shoot here!
