I’m so excited to share this latest session with you. I have so many favorites from this session! Kathleen and Damir are such a fun couple and they live right here in Las Vegas. I feel so honored when they told me that they loved my work and wanted to schedule an engagement session right away! They really liked Marah and Seth’s engagement session at Floyd Lamb Park and they did not believe that a park that green exists in Las Vegas! I love this park because it’s so serene, and there’s a lot of cool historical buildings to shoot at as well.

Some couples take some time to warm up to the camera but Kathleen and Damir were naturals in front of the camera. This was one of the first pictures we took and is one of my favorites.

Kathleen’s hair and makeup were done by Stevee Danielle Hair and Makeup. I loved Kathleen’s flirty ponytail!

Kathleen and Damir are a very stylish couple and brought some great outfits for their engagement session. The red top is such a pretty color and fluttered in the breeze. I also love her bright yellow cardigan!

We tried taking a few pictures with the peacocks that roam around the park, but they were a bit shy and kept running away from the us. The geese were not afraid of us at all, and I love how we were able to get not one but two geese in this image!

I loved getting to know Kathleen and Damir that I didn’t want our session to end! We ended up at the cute cafe with the biggest mugs ever, and then we went out to dinner! I have the best clients ever!

Meet Stephanie and Jason. They are proof that you can find love in the unlikeliest places, like at the airport! Yup, they were both in Las Vegas – Stephanie for a bachelorette party and Jason for a job interview, and on their way back home to Ohio, their flight was delayed for several hours. They somehow started chatting and hit it off. So what was bad news for them actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise!

Now they both live in Las Vegas and getting married this November. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at Anthem Country Club!

I am so excited about how these engagement photos turned out! As a photographer, I spend a lot of time with my couples to create a vision and plan the details of their engagement session so that their images turn out amazing. This session was no exception. While sometimes plans never always work the way you want, everything worked out great in the end and we had such a fun time on this engagement shoot. Most of these were taken downtown, which is a fun mix of vintage and modern.

They both went to Ohio State, so I thought this red wall would be a great tribute to their alma mater! Plus it matches Stephanie’s dress. :)

When I saw these escalators, I had this really cool idea in my head. No escalators were harmed during this photo shoot. Okay, I have to let you in on a little secret: these were non-working escalators so it’s much easier to get a pose like this where they are on opposite escalators!

Sometimes when you’re walking through downtown, you never know what you’ll run into. Like this gargantuan modern wall art.

And no downtown Vegas engagement session is complete without taking a picture with a neon sign. :)

Another one of my favorites. Simply beautiful.

I’ve had my eye on this building for a while but it’s always been too sunny and was always afraid it might be too reflective. I love the modern lines and curves of this building. Luckily it was cloudy during our engagement session, so I was finally able to shoot here!

When I first met Harpreet and Kevin to talk about their engagement session, I knew we would be instant friends. We talked as if we already knew each other and chatted like old friends would do. And the more I talked to them, the more I knew that they were meant for each other, even though I knew them for a whole 5 minutes. Harpreet told me that she read by blog before we met and knew she would like me already because I mentioned that I really love food. Lol! I have been really busy lately so I haven’t had time to work on personal pictures, but I will try to post more personal posts and pictures of food!

Harpreet and Kevin are getting married in California next month, but they live here in Las Vegas and wanted a location that didn’t feel like Las Vegas. After scouting a few places, they really wanted to do it at Lake Las Vegas, which is a beautiful place for engagement photos. We started off the session with this really cool bridge.

This bridge was modeled after the bridge in Florence, Italy…everything’s a replica in Vegas! It’s so pretty and colorful.

This is their “blue steel” look. Then they got the giggles and started acting goofy. Love it!

Marah and Seth are originally from Texas but live here in Las Vegas. They are old friends who knew each other since high school and then recently reconnected on Facebook. Yay for Facebook! They are getting married back in Texas and wanted to get some engagement photos done here..at a park. You almost take parks for granted anywhere else, but in Vegas, trees are a rarity, especially large trees. Thankfully, there is Floyd Lamb State Park at the very north side of town that is just perfect at this time of the year. It was originally a ranch and now it’s a historical state park. It’s really a different world there, and you wouldn’t know that you’re in Las Vegas, much less the middle of a desert. Everything is green and lush!

I have a lot of favorites from this session, and it was haaaard to choose because Marah and Seth are so cute and photogenic!

Marah and Seth were really open to all my suggestions, including laying down on this rope bridge. Every time I moved, the whole bridge would move!

Colleen and Paul are getting married tomorrow at Caesar’s Palace, and I can’t wait to shoot their wedding! It’s going to be amazing! They just flew in from New York to relax before their wedding, so we met up and did a quick mini engagement session so they could have a picture displayed at their wedding reception. I am so happy we were able to hang out before the wedding since I don’t usually have the luxury of meeting out of town couples beforehand. I just love getting to know my couples because it makes photographing the wedding day so much easier!

I had the pleasure of photographing Marleah and Elmer’s engagement session when they were visiting Las Vegas a few weeks ago. They are native Alaskans and getting married in their home state in June, and thought that their vacation to Las Vegas would be the perfect time to get some engagement photos done, since Anchorage is 20 degrees right now and Las Vegas is at a cool 75. If you are thinking about getting photos done, now is the perfect time before the summer heat kicks in!

My preference is to always shoot early morning or late afternoon. And I like to shoot really early before the sun gets really bright, at like 7-8AM. And trust me, the sun in Las Vegas is really bright. We don’t get many clouds or have a lot of trees for shade! I feel bad asking clients to wake up so early when they are on vacation, especially since most people get pretty tired towards to the end of their trip here. It’s a lot of walking up and down the Strip! But my clients trust my judgment and really appreciate getting up early when they see the images. It’s also easier to do a session when there’s not a lot of people around. And you can always take a nap after the session! :)

Marleah and Elmer got up super early for their engagement session because it was the first day of Daylight Savings Time, so we all lost an hour of sleep. They were incredible despite being tired from all the walking they did the day before. We decided to go to Fremont Street, which is a really cool covered pedestrian street in downtown Las Vegas, also known as the old Las Vegas. These older casinos definitely have a lot of charm, and you can still find the slot machines that spit out real coins here.

Yay we have Fremont Street all to ourselves!

Congratulations again on your engagement Marleah and Elmer, and I hope you have the time of your lives at your wedding!

I’ve known Sandy since my freshman year of college, and we bonded over our love of food. At first it was going to In-n-Out, then it was studying at burger joints because the library does not allow food- which is really not conducive for studying but at least we weren’t hungry, then we moved out of the dorms and lived in the same apartment complex. Then more burgers and also Sandy’s really yummy Chinese cooking. Okay I am making myself hungry now so I’ll stop! Fast forward years later and we both ended up 3000 miles away from California and living in Boston.

Sandy really wanted me to photograph her engagement session, so we planned for an engagement shoot about a week before I was scheduled to leave Boston. The only problem: Sandy and Scott were not engaged yet when she asked me! But they have such an amazing relationship that I was sure that Scott was going to “put a ring on it” soon. You just know when people are meant to be together! (I’ve had other couples who’ve booked me before they were engaged or have booked surprise engagement shoots, so for me it’s not uncommon. It’s funny because I think people outside the wedding world thinks it’s weird or they are old-fashioned in thinking they are jinxing themselves..like counting chickens before they are hatched. But I feel like if people are contacting me, then they’re pretty set on getting engaged.)

After trading lots of emails back and forth and discussing the merits of several locations, we decided to do something different and drive out to Rockport, a beautiful beach town. Sandy is from Orange County, so she is a beach girl at heart, though this ocean is much colder than the one she is used to! It is a really charming New England historic town, and had some great clam chowder and fried clams after our shoot! Thought we probably picked the windiest day of the year to shoot, and not surprisingly, it was even windier by the beach. But we didn’t let it bother us, and I was really happy that we didn’t change our minds.

Sandy wanted to visit one of the quarries first, so we first had to hike a short trail.

This is a huge granite quarry from the 1800s that is now empty and full of water. It is really pretty and not like other quarries I have seen. I call this my paparazzi shot because I am hiding in the bushes!

Then we wandered over to the beach and had some fun!

The wind was so powerful that it dictated which direction Sandy faced and had to keep repositioning, but it paid off because I love how the wind is flying through their hair! And the gorgeous ocean behind them!

One aspect that I really enjoy about photography is that it takes me to new places. Like this famous red shack, which even has a name: Motif Number 1.
