Shang and Andrew

December 22, 2009

Last weekend, I had an opportunity to photograph Shang and Andrew. They are such a cute couple, and I’m so excited to share their photos with you! Shang (of Shang Chen Photography) was so nice to set up a workshop for a group of assistant photographers, and they were the subjects! We shot outside at a nearby park, and they were good sports to brave the freezing cold. On the bright side, it was so cold that there were no kids playing in the playground, so we were able to shoot in the park all to ourselves with no distractions!

I am so pleased about how these pictures turned out, and now I am no longer a weenie about shooting in the cold (I bought fingerless gloves which really helps!). Anyone else up for a winter shoot? :)

I am usually assisting Shang on photoshoots, so I don’t really see her interacting with her boyfriend Andrew. I saw a different side of her during the shoot, and I was almost in joyful tears seeing how tender and caring they are with each other. I caught myself several times saying “awww!”

I was recently introduced to Animoto and was totally floored! Their slideshows are so cool and easy to make. I just tried out the free 30 second slideshow and made a slideshow of Shang and Andrew! Leave a comment and let me know if you prefer the Animoto slideshow or traditional slideshows instead.

Love the photos Emily! I’m not entirely crazy about the fast-paced speed in the trial version of Animoto, although I heard you can slow it down in the full version? (check me on this). As energetic as we both were at the shoot, as a couple, I think that we’ve both liked slow slideshows in the past.

Love the shots! And your blog presentation. I think the Animoto slideshow might be too busy at times, but it’s different and refreshing — also depends on the personalities of the individuals being exhibited.

Nice job Emily! I love the feet one and the first one the best! I can hear the noise she must have been making (or is that the noise that I would have been making? :) ) while being all squeezed and squished!! Cute!
